Hair Straighteners

The extra requirements for hair straighteners have now been removed by the regulators. This means that from now on, any hair straightener certificate will also be valid for 5 years and when we issue a renewal to an existing certificate, this will also be for 5 years.

The extra requirements for hair straightener test reports requiring new testing have also been removed, so the requirements for the test report will be exactly the same as for all other products.

Existing certificates are not affected and this will only apply to new applications and renewals received from May 2021.

A reminder that any hair care product is a declared item and level 3 under the EESS/RCM classifications, so certification for these items, including hair straighteners, remains mandatory.
