PV Inverters – 3100 no longer necessary for SAA
After reviewing the standards and in consultation with the CEC, we have decided that there is no further need to test PV inverters to AS/NZS 3100 if tested to the IEC 62109-1 and IEC 62109-2 standards. The technical rationale behind this decision is that AS/NZS 4777.2 and AS/NZS 3100 both allow for assessment to more appropriate standards as they become available. As all inverters will be required to be certified to IEC 62109-1 and IEC 62109-2 by July this year, we have decided that this is sufficient evidence of electrical safety compliance. Our certificates will continue to be accepted by the CEC for your listing.
Photos and Instruction Manuals
Every application must be accompanied with colour photos, preferably in the report and of the best possible quality. If an instruction manual is required by the standard, we require it as well.
Production Must Match the Approved Product
We are finding more and more examples of changes being applied to approved product without the approval being modified. This invalidates the approval, is potentially very dangerous and is not allowed. Please remind your manufacturers to be vigilant. It is recommended that production checks are completed against the test report used for approval.[:]
